Sldemo: Show Basic API Functions

slmdemo is a Windows-based graphical sample program to show basic API functions. Evaluate it using the steps described here to understand the basic API calls and test the connectivity between client and license server

slmdemo can be used to test the connectivity to a remote Linux license server

Right-click on the executable and select Run as administrator. slmdemo calls the VLSinitialize API when the application is invoked successfully.

Set the contact server (License Manager) under the Connect To > Server menu option. Enter a hostname , which is the hostname or IP address of the License Server.

Click OK and enter in the field one of the license features available in the network license file. Where Feature is the name of the feature ex. TC_FULL and Version is the license version in the NWL (Network) license. Click Get License. The message The call returned a success status of 0x0 means that the connection client <> license server works.

To save the log, click File > Save log.
